Research Interests
Prof. Xin has developed a series of stable and high-efficient engineering tools (such as overexpression, RNAi, CRIPSR/Cas9, etc.) in an industrial microalga, Nannochloropsis oceanica. By these innovative research tools, Prof. Xin has delineated and designed lipid metabolic processes in N. oceanica. Selected experience includes: (1) Microalgal genetic engineering on lipid metabolism (Zhang et al 2022 Nat Commun; Xin et al 2019 Mol Plant; Xin et al 2017 Mol Plant); (2) Development of tools on microalgal genetic engineering (Wang et al 2020 Sci Adv; Wei et al 2017 Plant J; Wang et al 2016 Plant J).
